Manchester City may need to put a release clause in new contract for Erling Haaland which could trigger offers from Real Madrid and Barcelona

Manchester City's Erling Haaland is said to be in negotiations for a new contract, but a release clause might "pique the interest of both Real Madrid and Barcelona." According to the Express, Haaland will try to copy a clause he had at Borussia Dortmund. "After a successful start to the Premier League season, Manchester City's Erling Haaland is reportedly in negotiations for a new contract.

They had been trying to get him away from Borussia Dortmund before Pep Guardiola's team celebrated a successful pursuit. When he landed in Manchester, he signed a five-year contract, of which two have already passed. Reports have reliably coursed that a delivery provision, like the one which permitted City to sign Haaland from Dortmund existed in his ongoing agreement. "City would be wise to remove any exit clause from the agreement that renders them powerless in the event that Real Madrid or Barcelona call."
